Leon wisely made the choice to avert his gaze when the BOW struck. Even with his eyes closed, from the noise alone he could tell that whatever the creature was doing - it was brutal. The sound of gunshots, shattering concrete, shouting and yelling and screaming that was swiftly silenced by the snapping of bones and the tearing of flesh.

He considered looking up when he couldn't hear Anubeyis eating people anymore, but the distinct noise and flash of light associated with a flashbang made him glad that he decided to keep his eyes clenched shut for just a bit longer.

It was only when he couldn't hear the sound of the scuffle did he bother to look up. The BOW was nowhere in sight, and he could hear more men coming. Fortunately, given that the creature had broken the chains keeping him tethered to the wall, he was free to leave his cell.

Unfortunately, his hands were still bound in cuffs that he wouldn't be breaking anytime soon - and it was obvious that the BOW had its own problems to worry about. Regardless, he seized the opportunity presented to him - stepping out of the cell and picking up a fallen handgun from among the remnants of the bloodbath. Granted, it was difficult to hold the gun considering that his hands were bound together - he had to hold it in a sort of awkward one-hand grip - but it was better than being unarmed in a place like this.

It was right at that moment that the guard responsible for briefly blinding Anubeyis rounded the corner - and was promptly felled with a bullet straight between the eyes. Leon wasted no time in searching the body for a key; fortunately, he found one. The only problem was going to be actually using the key to unlock the cuffs considering that, again, his hands being bound together. But it was better than nothing.

Now ducking into cover, Leon waited for the rest of the armed guards to round the corner - and for the firefight that was the come. He couldn't wait to get the hell out of this place - that is, assuming his BOW 'companion' didn't decide to eat him once they got their freedom.

The lights blinked and flickered for a few moments. Going dark before resuming the red flashing of a containment breach. Leon’s shadow began to extend as if black ink was bleeding from his feet.

(2) of the (6) large hands rise from the shadow, silently grasping the man’s wrists. The abomination is attempting to be gentle as it exerts strength to pull apart the chain connecting the cuffs. Immediately letting go and sinking back into the dark. The expanse of the mortal’s shadow reaches across the hall. As one of the guards round the corner, they seem to trip and face-plant. Their foot caught in a vice grip, violently they’re pulled into the black puddle on the floor. It closes and the shadow is Leon’s once more.

Anubeyis will not coddle him. If they are to truly work together, this human must be able to defend himself, and it seems he can.

egyptiandeathgod asked:

“Have not been penetrated this deep since ‘06.”

The Prince of Embalming looked down at the blade and sighed. Well, he is the Lord of Knives, this shouldn't be surprising.

brynhildr-valkyrie-voldsom answered:

The Valkyrie held back a guffaw at the lords brazen choice of words. They seemed odd come from his tongue. This was most serious though. He had nearly frightened the life out of her. Just popping up out of nowhere. Not a wise thing to do to a warrior with excellent reflexes, who’s had to be on guard all her life. “Well, you shouldn’t have snuck up on me.. You’re just lucky it was not my larger blade.”

The Swallower of Millions parts his jaws in a subtle but grotesque grin. He could be funny if he so desired. But it was the sort of dry humour most didn't expect from him, as was the case here.

"where is the amusement in that?"

He set aside his staff, letting it stand on its own while he eyes the blade in his flank. Clawed black hands take hold and firmly pull, ember ichor coating the knife and trickling from the wound as it closed.

"perhaps arriving straight from Du-at was not the ideal transport."

He had emerged from the ground, he hadn't meant to startle her.

brynhildr-valkyrie-voldsom

Once he had pulled her blade from his flesh, she had quickly snatched up back, wiping the dark liquid that remained on the leather at her thigh with a huff. She had just cleaned this blade and now his.. goo was all over it.

With a grunt, she shoved the soiled dagger back in its holster, glaring at the Egyptian god. "Perhaps we need to put a bell on you." The angel stated, still trying to hold back a laugh.

@egyptiandeathgod

egyptiandeathgod

The Lord of Two Lands tilted his head. A small huff of amusement given in turn. He eyed what remained of the ichor. Wondering if he should inform her that the blood of a deity was a coveted and hard thing to come by. Even a blade that has been soiled would fetch high offers from those desperate enough for even a drop to use. Or a cut of the leather she wiped the knife on. A mere strip of it would be viciously fought over.

“Oh? I fathomed courting and fine dining would be in order first before such activities. Not even an offering of wine?”

Whilst he continues to jest, he glanced around at his surroundings. Had he arrived at the right place? He had intended to visit Thor, but this new face was just as pleasing to interact with, despite the initial injury.

It immediately began to look for an opening. The bars would be cumbersome and he’d rather not get stuck trying to get through them. Instead he spotted a vent in the wall, one of his clawed hands cleanly cutting through and tearing out the grated seal.

The abomination began to squish and squeeze his way in. Leaving trails of black slick behind as his tail snaked along into the vents. Clamoring could be heard within the walls and ceiling. And the sounds of what must be other grates being opened as it looked for the path to Leon’s cell.

Unexpectedly there was an abrupt halt and silence. A shriek echoed along with crashes and the wet tearing of flesh. The fighting got closer until a Licker burst out of the vent in the ceiling and fell to the floor. Anubeyis dropped right on top of it with one of its limbs in his mouth. His primary hands pinning it to the floor while extra hands went to grab the Lickers tongue and tear out the neck. Once it stopped screeching, he tossed it aside.

“I…break…you..”

Numerous limbs reached for the chains. His many eyes focusing on snapping the links closest to the cuffs. While leaning close, syringes still stuck in his body shined in the low light. As well as what was left of the restraints when he breached containment. They weren’t evident earlier since the dripping of ink had covered them.

Anubeyis senses the reinforcements in the bloody hallway. Snapping around the monster stood nearly to full height, grabbing the ceiling and pulling himself up, body covering the flickering light bulb. He rumbled and seemingly began to drip more, shadows expanding outwards to cover the room. Skulled head lifting to stare at Leon. The glow of eyes the only thing visible.

He was waiting for them to open the door. His dark body should make the cell appear empty.

savior-of-humanity

So it was smart enough to recognize that the vents might be an easier option than just trying to break the bars. That definitely wasn’t at all even more concerning.

Much to his chagrin, Leon could only sit there and listen as the creature made its way through the ventilation system above him. Part of him suspected that it might just abandon him anyway, whether from finding its own way out or out of cruel amusement. Fortunately, that didn’t seem to be the case as he could hear the BOW gradually grow closer and closer.

At least until there was an awfully familiar and ear-grating shriek, one that instantly had him on his feet in alarm. There was only one thing that made that noise, and the last time he ever saw one was over six years ago.

What the fuck was a Licker doing in the goddamned vents???

There was the noise of fighting, screaming, claws and teeth ripping through flesh and scraping against metal as the two monsters dueled somewhere above him. He nearly jumped out of his own skin and yelled in surprise when the Licker burst through the vent on the ceiling. The vent in his cell. The vent that, basically, was almost right in front of him.

Thankfully, he needn’t worry about being brutally mauled by it - for it was just as viciously taken out by his BOW companion. Leon couldn’t help but sigh in relief, slumping back down into a sitting position against the wall he was chained to.

But of course. Just when the first step towards freedom seemed within his grasp, something had to go wrong. He observed the creature’s movements, its anatomy - the syringes still embedded in its flesh, the restraints that clung to some of its limbs, how liquid shadow dripped from its own body and drowned any light that might have seeped into the room - either from the lightbulb or from the open bars across from him.

As he listened to the footsteps of what were probably armed guards approaching, Leon briefly pondered; was it trying to hide? But as he heard their confused shouts of alarm, something about an escaped prisoner and the sound of the lock being undone before the door to the seemingly empty and pitch-black cell would swing open, he realized that wasn’t just it.

It was baiting them.

egyptiandeathgod

Two of its multiple eyes remained focused on Leon, while the rest observed the door opening. Letting in light that didn’t reach beyond the threshold. It let them walk in, opening its jaws wide to let out a low subsonic rumble. Like a viper, the BOW strikes out. Multiple limbs snatching up bodies to bite. Slamming its full weight down on those it couldn’t when he let go of the ceiling. The light bulb barely flickering and stained with the ink of Anubeyis body.

Using himself as a ram, the monster charged out, horns smashing the door and the wall around it on purpose. Debris flew into the hallway. It shook itself, lifting whoever was still alive in its clawed hands. Jaws clamped over torsos as heads and shoulders were engulfed by its maw.

He was devouring them.

A long tongue snaked out to lick over the near-black blood soaking its mouth. He dropped what was left of the people in his grip. A satisfied growl left him, body rippling. Defined lean muscle forming on the emaciated body. One eye spotted something too late, and an ungodly sound projected out of him. A flash grenade. He violently shook his head, swinging it like a pendulum while blindly rushing to gore the fool who tossed it. Slamming the ram-like horns of his skull into either wall. The eyes that weren’t caught in the flash rotated to find the culprit when a second grenade went off. This time, however, he managed to close the rest of his eyes. And sunk into the shadows. His head went first and the rest of him followed. Anubeyis was not strong enough yet despite the carnage he wrought.

He’ll leave them to Leon. The man seemed smart enough. Hopefully, he didn’t just sit in that cell.

It tilted its head much like a dog. The emaciated body crouched low so as not to hit the ceiling with its head. When it pulls its head back from the bars, a set of four horns can be seen. Two that curled forward like a ram. And a pair at the top of its head that pointed backward. The primary horns scratched the ceiling as it examined the man’s cell. And a few of its eyes focused on the chains. Tail flicking idly.

The constant dripping of tar-like substance of its body was due to the state of Anubeyis form. In his weakened state, he isn’t completely solidified yet, so his body was still squishy and still comprised of shadow. He needed more sustenance to solidify. And it proved to be a boon. Bullets hurt, but they couldn’t do very much damage to something that isn’t quite formed yet.

Hence the bloodbath. It needed food. Blood and meat, soul and bone. Whatever the researchers had played with this time wasn’t strictly kept in the realm of science.

Anubeyis could hear more people coming. They weren’t far off.

“outside…you…help…go?”

Its voice was rough and gravelly. Steam expelled from its maw as it began to look for an opening.

savior-of-humanity

Its obviously intelligent, he can tell, aside from it being able to formulate words. And, based on his assumption? It was also probably responsible for the utter carnage that lay beyond the confines of his jail cell. Assuming that was the case, why it had done such a thing was beyond him - but it certainly couldn’t have been for any good reason. A natural desire to hunt and feed, perhaps. Or, simply because it was so bloodthirsty that it would kill anything in sight.

If that was the case, then surely it wouldn’t be bothering with looking at him, talking to him. It would have just ripped open the bars and proceeded to turn his insides into outsides. But then again - who knew?

He also knew that the chances of him actually being able to get out of this place on his own were slim. Very, very slim.

Kennedy inhaled for a brief moment, then gave an utterly resigned sigh. He wasn’t fond of the idea of helping a bio-weapon, let alone aiding it in what he assumed was a desire for freedom. But what choice did he have, really?

“Alright. If you break these chains and let me go, I’ll help you get out of this place. Sound like a good deal?”

"I want to do something stupid."

The Lord of the West perked up. His beloved wanted to engage in mischief? He turned, bright eyes focusing on the man.

"and what is it that you desire to enact?"

He takes a hand in his own. Pressing his lips to Dio's knuckles.

It is rare that an indulgence such as this comes along, who is he to deny him?

goldentemplariumcrow

"Well, being quite honest, I have no idea. I feel like probably getting on the nerves of one of my coworkers at the Order just for the fun of it... maybe just find some random thing to do, like placing a whole pack of minty candy in a bottle of soda and shaking it."

image

"Or... I could do you, if you're stupid." Dio jokes. Yes, he's that bored, to a point of voicing a cheesily bad punchline for no other reason than to see if it sticks.

egyptiandeathgod

His head tilts, give him a minute, he’s still processing. A chemical experiment with a soft drink sounds interesting, but then they’d have to clean up the mess. That sort of liquid tended to be sticky when dry and that’s the last thing he wants to get near.

Irritating someone could be detrimental, depending on who it is. Or…they could try sticking those post-note things all over someone’s office. He’s heard of that trick on the television. It could be fun with different colours.

Imy-ut’s ears flick and turn, perking when he finally gets the joke. Leaning down to cup Dio’s cheek and nuzzle along his jaw.

“That could be arranged.”

@egyptiandeathgod – continued from here!

Leon S. Kennedy was unfortunately used to dealing with monsters of both the human and inhuman variety.

The Raccoon City Destruction Incident. Operation Javier. Los Illuminados.

Granted, he most certainly didn’t ask for any of it - the latter two incidents were only because he was coerced into joining STRATCOM. They wanted him for his expertise and his knowledge of what went down in Raccoon City, and he would’ve said no to the whole thing were it not for them blackmailing him with the idea of Sherry - that damn poor kid - being picked apart in experiments like vultures on a carcass. All because she had the equally bad luck of being infected with the G-Virus, although she’d been prevented from becoming a monster through the use of a vaccine.

So he wasn’t surprised in the least bit when Leon was tasked with diving into some decrepit facility, full of monsters that were made by monsters, yet again. At this point he was fully expecting to find BOW monstrosities cooked up by some Umbrella remnant, a cult like Los Illuminados, or… well. Something similar.

It was through a bout of sheer unfortunate misfortune that instead of him finding the people responsible for whatever dark shit they were cooking up now, they found him first. He didn’t even see them coming; a hard blow to the back of the head, the familiar pinprick sensation of a needle in the flesh - he recalled the briefest moments of panic, remembering that infected Missionary with the syringe full of Las Plagas back in Spain - and then all went dark and quiet for him.

Then the next thing he knew, he wasn’t in the hallways of the aforementioned facility but in some deep and dark prison - likely where they held whatever these people were working on. He didn’t know how long he’d been out for, but based on the heavy smell of death in the air, and the sight of a total bloodbath just outside his cell - he figured he might’ve been knocked out for quite a while.

Oh, and there was also the several foot tall, multi-armed creature sitting just outside of his cell.

It didn’t look like any monster he’d seen before; black as night, with a body that seemed to be perpetually dripping as though it were made of liquid darkness. The only other discernible features he could make out in the dim lighting were its many limbs, the canine skull it wore for a face, and the six eyes that glowed a shade of gold. The six eyes that were focused on him.

Considering the fact that not only was Leon completely unarmed but also chained to the wall, he was moderately grateful for the fact that there was a thick set of iron bars separating him from the creature. But then again - he wouldn’t be surprised in the slightest if it turned out that the thing could just break the bars like toothpicks. But instead of doing just that, it did something that caught him off-guard; it talked.

image

“I could ask you the same thing,” he’d quip while simultaneously pulling at the chains that kept his hands bound above his head. No luck - they wouldn’t be giving any time soon.

egyptiandeathgod

Bone maw slick with dark red liquid opened, exhaling a gout of steaming cold breath into the still air of the facility.

“who…are…you?”

Bodies littered the halls and hung through broken windows or walls. It was a blood bath. Viscera and body parts scattered about.

Anubeyis didn’t expect to find another prisoner in the facility. Maybe a test subject? It doesn’t know or care. The creature had been following the drafts of cool night air, where there was air was an exit.

Six eye sockets eerily glowed, pinpoints of gold focused on the man. Its primary hands examined the cell door, claws scraping over metal. While two other pairs of hands either braced against the floor and wall as it leaned forward. Head tilting curiously.
